Maire O'Connell, Director

The Claddagh School was established in 1985, under the
direction of Máire O’Connell.  Maire is licensed to teach and
adjudicate by the Commission of Irish Dancing in Dublin.
Claddagh dancers compete in both solo and team events and
have won world and international titles, numerous
regional and national competitions in the U.S.

The Claddagh School has class locations in:
Ventura, Santa Barbara, Simi Valley,Westlake Village,
San Luis Obispo, Lake Forest, Murrieta, and Sacramento.

* 6 World Titles
* 33 dancers attending the 2011 World Irish
Dance in Dublin, Ireland
* 8 Team titles (10 additional placements – top
10) in 2010 Western Regional Oireachtas
* 2 Solo titles – 2010 Western Regional
* 21 World qualifiers for solo events

Dancers have continued to dance in professional venues including “Riverdance”, “Lord of the Dance”, “Feet of Flames”, and “Battle of the Dance”.

Community outreach including shows for
Knights of Columbus events, school
demonstration, entertainment for senior centers
and disabled organizations.
